DOMI VENTURES

What do they do?
Domi is focused on the curation of early phase startup companies. A primary goal of the company is to grow the technology community in the Tallahassee area and leverage the largely untapped human and intellectual capital and resources from Florida State University, Florida A&M University, and Tallahassee Community College. Domi will provide seed funding for companies that have promising ideas and business models. The Domi management team is well connected with local investors and venture capital firms across the nation. As of today, the Domi partners have raised $50M in venture funding for successful technology startups. With this complete ecosystem, companies can grow from concept to M&A or IPO in the Tallahassee area. Services provided by Domi include: Mentoring - Led by seasoned entrepreneurs and a full life cycle support staff, Domi will work with companies to develop their concept, business model, technology, staffing model, investor pitch, organizational structure, sales strategy and go to market model. Learning Environment - Workshops, guest speakers, entrepreneurs, investors and educators will provide an ongoing learning environment to help provide the tools needed for success and growth. Seed Funding - Promising early stage companies will be eligible for seed funding to develop prototypes and to begin to gain traction in the marketplace. Follow-on funding - Beyond the seed round, Domi has well established connections with the local investment community. Local investors can become angels and/or co-invest with others across the nation. As companies advance, Domi can connect them with national venture firms that make multi-million dollar investments. Facilities - Initially, Domi will work virtually with local companies until space has been secured. The space will be a hybrid incubation/co-working environment. Since Domi is not a traditional incubator, companies can continue to grow within the facility as required. Co-workers will be professionals related to technology industries as either consultants or service providers that can directly help curate startups. Meetups - Inside the facility, virtually or at other locations Domi will connect entrepreneurs with each other to share experiences, knowledge, resources, etc. Technology appropriate meetups for individuals not housed within the space will be held there to further the interaction amongst the Tallahassee technical community. In addition, Hackathons, codefest, and MakerSpace meetings will be held at the space to further the connections amongst the technology community. Staffing - Domi will connect entrepreneurs with potential partners and resources within the technical community.

Florida Angel Nexus (“NEXUS”)

What do they do?
The Florida Angel Nexus (“NEXUS”) powers angel investment groups statewide. We solve challenges common for these groups: deal flow, due diligence, portfolio management, and need for broader context. We enable investors to invest in small groups of their own choosing and meet highly specialized goals while enjoying the efficiency of a large investment entity. Prospective companies undergo a rigorous vetting process. Leveraging our extensive network of industry experts, NEXUS enables investigations to better understand the market, product, and execution risk of investment opportunities. Selected companies gain exposure to a large number of investors from angel groups across the state who coinvest to meet the company’s fundraising goals; the angel groups gain far more insights than they can generate on their own. It’s a win-win situation. NEXUS's objective is to achieve higher returns with less risk than typical angel groups by combining Florida’s community resources, including our vast university systems, with the business acumen of NEXUS's members and partners. The group strives to improve Florida’s funding environment and to become a prominent investment corridor that attracts, creates, and retains the best talent and high paying jobs for our state.

Springboard Capital

What do they do?
Springboard Capital, LLC is a member-managed private equity fund focused upon seed and early stage investment located in Jacksonville, Florida. Springboard's members, all individual accredited investors, guide the fund's activities and play an active role in all aspects of investment opportunity analysis, due diligence, investment structuring and post-investment collaboration. Springboard's investment process begins with a review of the company's executive summary and business plan by the fund Administrator. If the company is considered to be compatible with Springboard's investment focus and criteria, the company's documents are screening by several Springboard members. If deemed appropriate by the screening team, the company is scheduled to make a formal presentation to the Springboard membership at one of their monthly meetings. Following this presentation, the membership determines if further evaluation and due diligence is warranted. If the decision is positive, a due-diligence team is assigned to conduct in-depth evaluation of the investment opportunity, due diligence and structuring of draft investment terms. Final approval of an investment is made by the Springboard membership based upon the findings and recommendation of the due diligence team.
