Holcomb tholcomb@cob.fsu.edu 850.644.7851 Tallahassee, Fla. – Beer and brainstorming will converge this week, Thursday, April 14 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Vintage Bistro & Bar as entrepreneurs – from students to local business owners – meet to share ideas at the inaugural Tallahassee Startup Round, sponsored by The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship. The new initiative aims to bring students interested in entrepreneurship, local inventors and entrepreneurs and investors together for an informal networking session that fosters collaboration. “The Jim Moran Institute is working with three local entrepreneurs—John Chason of Metrix Ventures, Lester Hutt of BevShots and Adam Kaye of Silicon Tally—who are helping to bring this exciting program to Tallahassee. We are modeling Startup Round on similar programs implemented by other universities,” said Dr. Tim R. Holcomb, executive director of The Jim Moran Institute. “A growing number of students and young professionals are starting businesses in Tallahassee, fueled by a lack of traditional job opportunities and success stories at the local and national level. This reception aims to bring all the facets of entrepreneurship together in an atmosphere that creates opportunity. As an advocate for entrepreneurship, The Jim Moran Institute works constantly to create opportunities for students, local businesses and entrepreneurs.” What: Tallahassee Startup Round sponsored by The Jim Moran Institute.
